Cooling mats are a great tool for keeping your pet comfortable in the summer months – but finding a safe, non-toxic and well-made cooling pad has always been a challenge…until now!
We were thrilled to finally discover AvantPet, a Korean brand dedicated to creating natural and effective cooling products that are safe not just for families and pets, but for the earth.
Why we love these mats :
They are NON-TOXIC & made with FOOD GRADE INGREDIENTS :
Typical cooling products are made from polymer gel, the main culprit of microplastics. AvatnPet’s cool gel is made with Propylene Glycol (PG), which is a material used in food additives, and Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC), which is commonly used in cosmetics and medical supplies. Using food ingredients for the cool gel and microfiber fabric has allowed these high-quality mats to pass skin irritation and heavymetal tests.
They have a measurable COOLING EFFECT :
AvantPet’s Cool Mat is a tool that allows pets to regulate their body temperature when they feel hot. During the hot summer, it provides pets with a cool and clean resting place. The non-toxiccool gel keeps the mat 3 to 5 degrees cooler than room temperature for long hours, even without putting it in the freezer.
If you’d like to make the mat cooler, you can place the mat in the freezer – it won’t freeze solid, turning to a slush-like thickness for extra staying power. It can be used immediately after removing from the freezer.
They are WATERPROOF & EASY TO CLEAN :
The mat itself is waterproof, made from microfiber fabric often used in baby bedding, as it is washable and easy to clean. Put it on the car seat, floor, sofa, or place it in your pet’s crate, bed or kennel. The cooling pads are lightweight and folds effortlessly, ideal for travel.

FAQs :
Q: My pet tore and ate the cooling mat. Is it okay?
A: Avantpet cooling gel is made of propylene glycol (PG), which is a food ingredient, and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), which is commonly used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, as its main ingredients. Although it is edible, please note that it is not developed as a food product. If your pet frequently chews on objects, it is recommended to wrap the cooling mat with a towel or something similar to give them time to adjust to it.
Q: There is mold on the surface of the product.
A: Mold on cooling mats is a common occurrence caused by the saliva or sweat of pets, which can occur when exposed to a high-humidity environment for an extended period. This is a typical phenomenon that can occur not only in cooling mats, but also in other products such as pet bedding and toys. Like other products, it is recommended to periodically clean the Avanpet cooling mat to create a safe and long-lasting environment for your pets.
Q. The cooling mat doesn’t feel cool after using it for a while?
A. Due to the product characteristics, the thermal conductivity may decrease after a certain period of use, resulting in less coolness. You can try putting it in the freezer or refrigerator for a short time to make it feel cooler.
Q. Does the cooling mat shrink over time?
A. All cooling mats that use cool gel, including Avanpet cooling mats, contain purified water. When the cooling mat is used for a long time, the water absorbs thermal energy, causing evaporation and natural loss of moisture. To delay this evaporation process, Avantpet cooling mats are coated with multiple layers of coating during the PVC lamination process.
Q. My pet doesn’t get on the cooling mat.
A. It is recommended to use it with snacks or cushions that your pet is used to as they may be unfamiliar with the new item.
Q. I put it in the refrigerator, and it became moist when I used it.
A. This is a very natural scientific phenomenon. If you leave it in the refrigerator for a long time and then take it out, condensation may occur on the surface of the product due to the moisture in the air. You can wrap it in a towel or something similar for a few minutes and use it, and then remove it when the temperature rises a bit.
